Directory Information

Student directory information may be released at the discretion of the school unless the administration has been notified in writing by the student or parent/guardian that some or all of this information shall not be designated as directory information.  Directory information may include the following:  student's name address, date of birth, dates of attendance, date of graduation and positive accomplishment.

For the safety of your child, it is imperative that the school office be notified immediately of a change of address and/or work telephone numbers.

Arrangements for transferring students out of district must be made in person at the school office.  Parents will need to provide their new address and name and address of the school their child will be attending.

In 2011, the Long Beach Island School District was approved to participate in the NJ Interdistrict Public School Choice Program.  This program is designed to increase educational opportunities for students and their families by providing students with the option of attending a public school outside of their district of residence and funded by the State of New Jersey. Dr. Timothy Brennan and Marilyn Yates are the Choice School contact person for our district and may be reached at 609-494-2341.

The Board of Education agrees to accept resident and some non resident preschool through 6th grade students at the following tuition rates:

1. Half-day Three-Year-Old Preschool Program (3 hours/5 days/ week), $2300
2. Full-day Four Year Old Preschool Program for residents and nonresidents, $2500

Requirements, terms and conditions for the admission of preschool and nonresident students (preschool through grade 6) and the tuition payment schedule may be obtained by contacting the Long Beach Island Board of Education at 609-494-8851 x 2106.

The Long Beach Island School District offers both before and after care to the families of our students.  Care is provided for students by school-approved personnel holding certificates of eligibility to work in a school environment.  The children are supervised at all times.  The program is housed at the EJ School and transportation is provided between the school building by district school buses.  For additional information including pricing, please contact the Board of Education office at 494-2341 ext. 1117 and after March of 2014 at the LBI Grade School.
