This Week in 2nd GradeMarch 20th-March 24thELA - This week in ELA be writing Friendly Pen Pal Letters to a former classmate who moved to Flordia. Later in the Week we will begin Lesson 11 in our Journey's series- We will introduce Click, Clack, Clack Moo- Cows that Type By: Doreen CroninMATH- This week we will Introduce Topic 9 Numbers to 1000- Lessons 9-1 -9-5Orton/Spelling- This week we will introduce the vowel team (oo) As in Zoo Some sample spelling words are(doodle, moose, tooth, cartoon. scoop. mushroom, loose). Red Words- knock, everySocial Studies- This week in Social Studies we will continue Topic 3 Government- Focusing on the Legislative Branch of Government and Judicial BranchScience- This week in Science we will begin our Review of Topic 4 - Earth's Changing Land- Topic 4 Test Next week (Wednesday, March 29thHomeworkHomework will be assigned nightly and will consist of 15-20 minutes of reading. Students are encouraged to read daily and fill out their monthly reading log calendar. Our goal is to read 300 minutes each month! Reading log calendars are due at the end of each month. Also, Monday-Thursday nights, students will receive basic math fact practice or the daily math lesson assignment. These assignments should take no more than 15 minutes. There is no homework assigned over the weekend. Please check your child's agenda to view their assignments or notes from the teacher.
