Summer Reading

  • Please use the following lists and links to access summer reading information by grade level. A lexile level chart is included to guide your child's reading choices. 
     
    Lexile Levels BR345 - 425 = Grades K-2
    Lexile Levels 530 - 950 = Grades 3-5
    Lexile Levels 990 - 1155 = Grades 6-8

    Second Grade students entering Third Grade should read one novel from the series list below.

    Fourth Grade:
     
    Third Grade students entering Fourth Grade should read the novel Mercy Watson to the Rescue by Kate DiCamillo.
     
    Fifth Grade:
     
    Fourth Grade students entering Fifth Grade should read one novel. Click on the link to view the list of book selections. Reading two novels is encouraged.
     
     
    *Students should not read Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo, Number the Stars by Lois Lowry, and Wonder by RJ Palacio as they are used in classroom activities. 
     
     
    Sixth Grade:
     
     
    Fifth Grade students entering Sixth Grade should read two novels from the list below. 
     
    Students should make sure to indicate what book(s) have been read and be able to provide this information upon returning to school.
