Superintendent - Dr Peter Kopack
On behalf of your Long Beach Island Consolidated School District Board of Education and administration, welcome to our website!
As a member of our learning community, we value your support and are excited to have opportunities for you to experience our strong academic programs. We are fortunate to have a dedicated and professional faculty who work closely with all students to promote positive social interactions and emotional growth through our character education programs.
Our past experiences have shown the benefits for children when their teachers and parents work together to support an interdisciplinary and team approach to learning. The Long Beach Island Consolidated School District looks to establish and maintain a strong partnership between teachers and parents in order for the students to reach their potential. We encourage parents to maintain open lines of communication with their teachers throughout the year. In addition, we believe in developing a strong home to school connection by inviting parents to volunteer their time and talent to the Parent Teacher Association. The PTA is instrumental in organizing and coordinating the many educational events that will occur throughout the school year. We encourage you to contact our PTA and attend an upcoming meeting. It is a wonderful way to develop stronger ties between families and schools.
Throughout the year, we will strive to build self-confidence, to teach students to develop goals, believe in them, and work hard to attain them. At the Ethel A. Jacobsen Elementary School and the Long Beach Island Grade School, we work together to develop and celebrate the whole child, while preparing them with the skills necessary to become lifelong learners. We value 21st century learning, knowledge and skills that include critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation.
As you know, a strong home to school partnership is essential to our community’s accomplishments. With the support of caring parents, professional educators, and members of our communities, our students will further develop the creative, communicative, and collaborative skills necessary for future success.
We wish you and your family much happiness and great success this school year!
Kindest regards,
Dr. Peter J. Kopack
