Winter Break 12/23-1/2This Week in 2nd GradeDecember 5th- December 9thELA - This week in ELA we will be continuing to study ourJourney's Teacher's Pets By: Dayle Anne DoddsMATH- This week we will begin Topic 8- Time and Money. Unit Vocabulary words will be in folders on MondayOrton/Spelling- This week we work with the vowel team (oa, oe) Some sample spelling words are (coat, roam, soak, oak, oattiptoe, mistletoe, Joe, hoe) We will be taking our spelling test this coming Friday 12/9. Our Red words this week will be (were, does)Social Studies- This week in Social Studies we will begin our new unit People, Places and NatureScience- This week in Science we will begin our new unit. Unit 2 Changing MatterHomeworkHomework will be assigned nightly and will consist of 15-20 minutes of reading. Students are encouraged to read daily and fill out their monthly reading log calendar. Our goal is to read 300 minutes each month! Reading log calendars are due at the end of each month. Also, Monday-Thursday nights, students will receive basic math fact practice or the daily math lesson assignment. These assignments should take no more than 15 minutes. There is no homework assigned over the weekend. Please check your child's agenda to view their assignments or notes from the teacher.
