DIRECTORY INFORMATION

Student directory information may be released at the discretion of the school unless the administration has been notified in writing by the student or parent/guardian that some or all of this information shall not be designated as directory information.  Directory information may include the following:  student's name address, date of birth, dates of attendance, date of graduation and positive accomplishment.


CHANGE OF ADDRESS/TELEPHONE NUMBER

For the safety of your child, it is imperative that the school office be notified immediately of a change of address and/or work telephone numbers.


TRANSFERS

Arrangements for transferring students out of district must be made in person at the school office.  Parents will need to provide their new address and name and address of the school their child will be attending.

CHOICE SCHOOL PROGRAM (K-6)

In 2011, the Long Beach Island School District was approved to participate in the NJ Interdistrict Public School Choice Program.  This program is designed to increase educational opportunities for students and their families by providing students with the option of attending a public school outside of their district of residence and funded by the State of New Jersey. TUITION FOR PRESCHOOL STUDENTS

The Board of Education agrees to accept resident and some non resident preschool students at the following tuition rates:

1. Half-day Three-Year-Old Preschool Program (3 hours/5 days/ week), $2,500
2. Full-day Four Year Old Preschool Program for residents and nonresidents, $3,000

Requirements, terms and conditions for the admission of preschool resident and nonresident students and the tuition payment schedule may be obtained by contacting the Long Beach Island Board of Education at 609-494-8851 x 2011.

KIDS CARE

The Long Beach Island School District offers both before and after care to the families of our students.  Care is provided for students by school-approved personnel holding certificates of eligibility to work in a school environment.  The children are supervised at all times.  The program is housed at the EJ School and transportation is provided between the school building by district school buses.  For additional information including pricing, please contact the Board of Education office at 494-8851 ext. 2011.  Further information, please refer to Kids Care under the Parents tab.
